Copper Mountain Mountain Stats

 

From its base, Copper Mountain rises 2,601 feet to reach a summit elevation of 12,313 feet above sea level and covers 2,465 acres with 140 marked trails. For those who like snow, Copper receives over 25 feet on average of the fluffy stuff each year.

Getting around the mountain is a piece of cake with 23 lifts; 5 are magic carpets for beginners, and a layout that affords easy transition from one part of the mountain to another. Featuring a natural division of terrain that results in most of the beginner trails located on one area of the mountain and the more advanced terrain on the other, beginners will find the slopes to be very accommodating while the experts will have the advanced terrain all to themselves.

Copper’s terrain is Ideal for all ability levels. 21% of the mountain is rated “Beginner”, 25% “Intermediate”, 36% “Advanced”, and 18% “Expert with a whole area dedicated to instruction. The lifts in the Center Village area reach a little above mid-mountain and feature long intermediate runs with access to mid-mountain lifts and a 22’ superpipe located just a few feet up the slopes from the base village. The Super Bee six person chairlift in the East Village reaches almost to the top and offers more advanced ski trails. On the west side of the mountain is the Union Creek area where the slopes are gentle, gradual, and primarily dedicated to ski school. The upper portion of the mountain and the backside offer amazing intermediate and expert above-tree-line bowl skiing, exhilarating glades, steeps, and leg-burning bump runs.

Five terrain parks including all of the top features are spread over the mountain, some are dedicated to smaller children and the Woodward at Copper program.
