Getting Here

Let’s get this trip booked early so you can enjoy one of the most conveniently accessed destinations of any ski resort. Aspen Airport (ASE) sits just 10-15 minutes from downtown Aspen and Snowmass Village with nonstop flights emanating from Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Minneapolis, and San Francisco. This is a small airport with a limited number of flights, those who book early not only secure their flights but also enjoy better rates than those who procrastinate. It is a fast drive or shuttle from the airport to your accommodations, many properties even offer free transportation from and to the airport. Alternative airports include Eagle (EGE) approximately 1.5 hours from Aspen/Snowmass, Denver (DEN) approximately 4 hours from the area, and Grand Junction (GJT) approximately 2.5 hours from the area. Rocky Mountain Getaways will arrange shared or private shuttle service as well as discounted vehicle rentals from any of the airports servicing Aspen/Snowmass.

Those driving from the East as well as where Denver Airport is located, will find the drive on Interstate-70 easy in good weather, more challenging when there is snow, and extremely scenic no matter the conditions. Those coming from the South will encounter several mountain passes that could be quite challenging in bad weather, from the West and North the drive is fairly smooth and simple. Four wheel drive is highly recommended no matter where you are starting your drive during the winter months.
