For as far away as Steamboat feels, we’re actually one of the most accessible ski resorts in Colorado. Yampa Valley Regional Airport (HDN) is your gateway to our little corner of Northwest Colorado and is just a short drive from downtown Steamboat. Steamboat is proud to partner with 6 major airlines to offer nonstop flight service from up to 16 airports, with connecting flights available from hundreds more.
Flights
Hayden is a smaller airport so the availability and rates are best when booking far in advance. Denver Airport (DEN) is a good alternative, it\’s 3-3.5 hours from the resort with half the drive on Interstate 70 and the other half on Highway 9 through mostly ranch country.
Steamboat offers nonstop flights from 16 airports nationwide. The return of Delta Air Lines from Atlanta and Minneapolis/St. Paul and the addition of new Southwest from Houston Hobby, and connecting flights from hundreds more, make getting to Steamboat is easier than ever. Driving Directions
The drive from Denver takes you over Rabbit Ears Pass which can be heavily affected by weather during the winter months, so four-wheel drive is recommended. Rocky Mountain Getaways arranges shared or private shuttle service as well as discounted vehicle rentals from both Denver and Hayden. Those driving from the East will encounter the same drive as those arriving into Denver Airport while those from the South may need to navigate several mountain passes prior to the ride up Highway 9.
